Sustainability and quality at Coody
A promise
At Coody, sustainability isn't just a buzzword, but a conscious choice of materials, durable construction, and modular systems. Coody premium tents are designed not to be replaced, but to accompany you for many years, in any weather, anytime, anywhere!
TC-Canvas, the heart of our tents
One of the most important components of our Coody tents is TC-Canvas (Technical Cotton), a high-quality cotton-polyester blend fabric that has proven itself in the professional outdoor glamping sector for decades. It is composed as follows and has the properties listed below:
- Cotton content: ensures natural breathability and a pleasant, balanced indoor climate.
- Polyester content: increases tear resistance, dimensional stability and resistance to moisture
- Fabric weight: is significantly higher here and therefore much more robust than in pure polyester tents.
Specific advantages over classic outdoor tents
- Less condensation than with conventional tents made of synthetic fabric.
- Temperature-regulating: pleasant indoor climate in hot weather, insulating in cold weather
- Natural feel instead of plasticky texture
- Pleasant tent climate instead of plastic smell
- Very long lifespan with proper care
TC-Canvas is chosen worldwide as a durable, repair-friendly, and therefore sustainable alternative to traditional plastic tents. This commitment is consciously reflected in the entire construction of every Coody tent.
Air columns made of flame-retardant PVC instead of rods
The construction of Coody Air Frame tents completely eliminates the need for conventional metal or fiberglass poles.
The supporting tent system consists of inflatable air columns made of flame-retardant PVC with a material thickness of 0.7 mm.
These air columns completely replace conventional poles and form the stable basic framework of the tent.
Why PVC air columns?
- High material thickness (0.7 mm): significantly more robust than standard 0.5 mm systems.
- Flame retardant: reduces the risk of fire spreading
- Pressure stable even at low temperatures
- No material breakage as with metal or fiberglass rods
- Durable and resilient for sustainable use over several years
The air columns are integrated into stable fabric channels and form a load-bearing frame system that can be set up quickly and easily using a hand pump or an optionally available electric pump.
Fewer mechanical components mean less wear and tear, greater safety, and a significantly longer service life. Because nothing is truly sustainable if it isn't durable.
A tent for all seasons
Coody tents are not just summer tents, not a short-lived seasonal product, but are designed for year-round use. They are built for long-term use and thus offer protection, comfort and space in all weather conditions.
This is reflected in the entire design as follows:
- Tightly woven TC canvas that protects against wind and cold.
- Natural insulating effect of the cotton content
- Generous ventilation openings throughout the tent for warmer days
- Stable air structure, even in storms, rain and snow.
Modularity as a sustainable principle
For Coody, sustainability also means offering products that can be modified to meet specific needs, rather than forcing new or replacement purchases. Depending on the tent type, the camping tents can therefore be expanded modularly and flexibly adapted to different requirements as follows:
- Removable tent carpets and floors
- Interchangeable windows and doors (insect screens, blackout blinds, TPU clear windows)
- Integrated side panels
- Combinable tents with connecting modules for more space
- Openings for power supply, auxiliary heater and tent stove
Built to last, not produced for a short lifespan
The design and construction of Coody tents follow clear quality standards that allow for long-lasting use over many years.
Quality features
- Reinforced seams at high-stress points
- Robust outdoor zippers
- Repair-friendly design
- Replacing individual components instead of purchasing a complete new product
The longer a product can be used, the more sustainable it is. That's precisely what every tent is designed for.
Our understanding of responsibility
The advantages in detail:
We believe that true sustainability doesn't come from deprivation, but from smart choices. In detail, this means:
- High-quality TC canvas instead of just thin polyester
- Tracheae instead of fragile rods
- Modularity instead of simple disposable design
- Durability through smart design instead of quick replacements
This is how tents are created that will accompany us for many years, not just for one or two holidays.
