The Coody 17.28 Familia is a spacious premium air tent for families, groups and anyone looking for plenty of space and comfort while camping. With its two-room layout and 17.28 m² of interior space, it offers ample room to sleep, live, store and relax. Depending on the sleeping arrangement and luggage, the tent is suitable for up to 10 people. The stable air system with especially strong, flame-retardant 16 cm PVC air tubes replaces traditional tent poles. The high-quality premium TC canvas blended fabric ensures a pleasant indoor climate, while the front and rear rooms create more structure, freedom of movement and privacy. A stovepipe outlet, flexible window and door options with TPU elements and mesh inserts bring light and air into the tent and allow the Coody 17.28 Familia to be flexibly adapted to the weather and personal needs. Thanks to the modular system, it can be combined with matching Coody extensions such as awnings and connectors, creating additional sheltered living space.

Removable standard door
You will receive the stylish tent door in the characteristic Coody-AirTent design. It consists of mesh fabric and an additional windbreak.

A mesh door is included in the scope of delivery, ensuring optimal ventilation even in summer. The mesh door is also equipped with a wind protection.

Note on the 17.28 Famila Tent with Detachable Groundsheet The groundsheet in the front area is made of a robust poly fabric and is fully detachable via a zipper. To prevent water from entering, the zipper is positioned higher than the groundsheet. The groundsheet in the rear area is permanently integrated into the tent and made of durable PVC.

How safe is the material of Coody outdoor tents?
Coody Premium tents are made from high-quality materials that significantly exceed South Korean safety standards for children's and baby textiles.
Safe from harmful substances – Formaldehyde-free – The measured arylamine value is five times below the legal limit in South Korea, making it even safer than textiles for infants. Safe from developmental toxicants – The content of potentially harmful substances like NPEs is five times below the permissible guideline value in South Korea. – Thus, according to South Korean regulations, it meets the strictest safety requirements for children's products. The 2-meter air mattress fits perfectly
into the rear sleeping area!
The Coody air mattress can be ideally placed in the rear compartment. This allows you to easily create two separate living spaces with the help of the partition wall. With two double mattresses, there is even enough space in the middle for an adult to walk through. However, if you combine a double mattress with a 3-person air mattress, the rear compartment will be completely filled, creating a large family bed.

Removable TPU Windows
In cold winter weather, the TPU window provides excellent thermal insulation. Because it is transparent, you can enjoy the view of the surroundings even on frosty days. The three sides of the TPU window are equipped with zippers and designed with curved edges for easy opening and closing. The top side is attached with Velcro, making the window easy to attach and remove. Since it is completely removable, it can be stored separately – and when you are not using it, you also reduce the overall weight of the tent.
Stability and safety
With conventional camping tents, the material thickness of the load-bearing air chambers is approximately Ø13. However, with the Coody Air Tent, the material thickness is around Ø2 stronger

Cable, air conditioning, or auxiliary heater feed-through
No more bothersome cables or complicated installations! Thanks to the integrated multi-purpose openings, power cables, air conditioning hoses, or auxiliary heaters can be fed into the tent easily, cleanly, and securely, providing more comfort and, above all, order and overview while camping!
The Familia tent has two intake valves to make airflow particularly easy to regulate. When inflating, it is sufficient to open only one valve. When deflating, please open both valves simultaneously.

1. Zipper connector A connector with double-sided zippers that allows for a simple and secure connection. (This connector can only be used if your tent has compatible zippers. In rare cases, minimal light or moisture may penetrate through the zippers.)

2. Lace connector This connector has a zipper on one side and a fabric flap on the other side, which is tightened using cords. To connect, attach the cords to the tent and then tighten them so that the connector is secure. (This connector can also be used with tents without a zipper. It also offers good protection against light and minimizes moisture penetration.)

TARP EXAMPLE
Various uses of the tarp
Simply place it over the tent and use it! The specially designed tarp is perfectly tailored to the size of the tent. It is attached to the upper curve with cords and can then be securely fixed to the ground.
Size that can also cover an air pool table The tarp is made slightly larger than the tent itself and therefore offers enough space to reliably cover an air pool table.
Simply roll up and use If you only want to use the roof, you can simply roll up the sides and secure them. If you roll the tarpaulin inwards and shape it like a small hem, rainwater will run off naturally.
Use the pool table as additional protection If you want to stay protected from the rain while camping and still enjoy the outdoors, you can use the pool table as a weather shelter. Depending on the intensity of the rain, you can easily adjust the angle of the tarp so that the water runs off optimally.
A versatile space in front of the tent On days without rain, you can use the tarp like an open shelter and create a comfortable living area. Attach it about 50 cm in front of the tent entrance and set up three poles at the front – this creates a spacious, sheltered vestibule.
Preparation and setup
- Always set up the tent on elevated ground, away from trees with heavy snow loads or open fire sources.
- Make sure there is adequate distance from water sources and rivers.
- Avoid setting up on slopes or uneven terrain.
Operating temperature
- Suitable for outdoor use in a temperature range of -15 °C to +40 °C.
- PVC hardens at sub-zero temperatures – the base and supports become stiffer, making folding more difficult. This is normal.
- Use sleeping bags with the appropriate temperature rating and place additional insulating mats underneath for added comfort.
Heating and insulation
- A roof vent for a wood-burning stove is available. Only stoves with spark guards may be used. Safe electric heaters are permitted. Open flames are not allowed.
- Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent the build-up of carbon monoxide.
- Use the internal partition (if available) to keep the heat in the sleeping area.
- Keep TPU windows closed to retain heat; open them only briefly for ventilation.
- Improve insulation by placing carpets, blankets, or mats on the floor.
Air pressure and poles
- Air pressure drops in freezing temperatures – check it regularly and pump up if necessary.
- Make sure that all valves are completely and correctly closed.
Condensation and moisture
- Condensation is normal and comparable to fogged windows. The higher the waterproofness of the material, the less breathable it is, which can increase condensation.
- Good ventilation is the best way to reduce condensation.
Protection from rain and snow
- The tent withstands moderate rain for about 4–5 hours. In light or occasional rain the rainfly is not strictly necessary.
- In prolonged rain, always use the supplied rainfly.
- Remove the rainfly after rainfall to improve air circulation and avoid condensation.
- Pre-attach or roll up the rainfly on one side so it is quickly to hand in continuous rain.
- Fit the rainfly immediately when it snows. Accumulated snow increases the moisture load.
- Clear snow from the tent roof regularly.
- If zips freeze, thaw them gently by hand or with warm water – never force them open.
- After winter use, let the tent dry completely before storing it.
Folding and storage
- Cold temperatures make PVC and fabric stiff, making folding more difficult.
- Fully ventilate the tent before packing it away.
- Allow the tent to dry completely in a well-ventilated place and store it only in a dry place.
Care and maintenance
- Do not wear boots or shoes indoors.
- Keep sharp or pointed objects away from walls and floors.
- Do not place the tent near chemicals or flammable substances.
- Mold and prolonged UV exposure shorten the lifespan – keep the tent clean and protected.
- Reduce direct sunlight; use the rain cover if necessary.
Fire protection measures
- Use electrical appliances carefully and properly.
- Keep the entrance clear at all times so that the emergency exit remains accessible.
- Keep a fire extinguisher or suitable extinguishing agent nearby.
- Keep fireworks and similar items away from children and the tent.
